Maritime Illustrations is a collection of art made with ink, watercolor, and salt. Each piece features a different sea critter whose name starts with the letter M.

Two inky Manta Rays swim near the sandy seabed. The ray in the background is turned with its underside toward the viewer. The water beyond the foreground is a dark and deep, abyssal ocean blue. There are rocky patches in the bottom corners of the image.

Two vibrant blue and yellow Marlin fish curl their bodies and swim in a near circle, their pointed snouts and sharp fins are apparent. The background is made with wet blue watercolor sprinkled with salt to create a grainy, blossoming, and busy.

Two manatees float blissfully, grazing seagrass in the turquoise-clear waters of natural springs. Mangrove roots are peeking into the frame and looming above the slightly rippling surface.

Two mantis shrimp are illustrated in vivid teals, blues, greens, and reds. There is staghorn coral painted a tanned yellow. One shrimp is partially tucked inside a rocky hidey-hole and the other is perched above them atop the rock. Salt is used in this painting to resist the pigments in the watercolor, making it granular and sandy appearing.
